From Machynlleth town centre, the walk takes easy paths & country lanes through varied open countryside and old oak woodland, with superb views round every corner.

The town has a street market every Wednesday, a leisure & sports centre, a Tourist Information Centre, the Owain Glyndwr Interpretive centre, and some good gift shops.
