Miners' Bridge Walk
Route #10
|
The first Miners' Bridge in Pontrhydygroes was built as a short-cut for
miners walking between home and the Lisburne Mine in the middle of the
village. A walk with a lead-mining theme, using country lanes and old
woodland and field paths, with good views of the Ystwyth Valley and the
hills to the north and east. The walk visits Glog-fawr mine, with its
attractive pond, and passes the site of Lisburne Mine in the middle of
the old mining village of Pontrhydygroes, before crossing the new Miners'
Bridge and returning through attractive woodland.
