Ysbyty Common Walk
Route #1
|
The "common" is a small area of moorland near Ysbyty Ystwyth,
with extensive views over southern Ceredigion. The route starts along
woodland paths, then along the disused Aberystwyth - Carmarthen railway,
and via a very scenic permissive path to the isolated church at Gwnnws.
It then leads on field paths to Tynygraig, and up to the common, with
excellent views south over the upper Teifi Valley, and of the Cambrian
Mountains, before descending to Ysbyty Ystwyth, from where field and
woodland paths lead back to Blaen-y-ddôl.
