Drysgol 360° panorama (73Kb)

The summit of Drysgol (348m / 1138') is a short detour from the route of Hillscape Walking Holidays Ysbyty Common Walk, and is part of a small area of moorland on high ground between the Ystwyth and upper Teifi valleys, 2 miles north-west of Pontrhydfendigaid.

The panorama starts looking east to the Cambrian Mountains, with Trawsallt hill on the left skyline. Turning clockwise, the wooded valley to the south-east contains Strata Florida Abbey. Further round, to the south, the nearer hill (in shade) is Craig Ystrad Meurig, which is topped by an excellent Celtic hill fort. Between this and the group of half a dozen sheep we are looking towards the distant Teifi valley. Further round, to the right of two more sheep, between them and the felled forest, you are looking north-west and can see the Ystwyth valley. The forest on Mynydd Bach occupies the northerly view, and after that you can see Pen y Garn on the horizon, the village of Ysbyty Ystwyth below it, and the upper Ystwyth valley between the two.
